Meet the Eye Care Team

Marina is our practice general manager and has been with us since 2017 when we opened our doors. She has over 8 years of patient care and optical experience. Marina a is very proud to lead our team in providing the best possible eye care by protecting, preserving, and enhancing patients’ vision health in the communities we serve. Marina received her business degree from Northeastern Illinois University. Her educational background and her dedication to our practice shows with every new idea she brings to ensure we deliver the ultimate patient-centric experience. Marina’s ability to inspire and lead teams while maintaining full control over the business and its performance make her perfect leader to our practice. Marina is also fluent in Bulgarian.

When Marina is not in the clinic, you can find her traveling, dining out or spending time with her friends and family, and her two adorable Scottish Fold cats.

 

Iva started with Des Plaines Eye Care Center 2018 as front desk and later on became the practice lead optician and practice lead. She an Office Management Certification in Eye Care from PECAA ( in collaboration with University of Houston, College of Optometry). Her meticulous attention to detail and independent nature makes her ideal for our business office. Her duties are mostly insurance - related and clinic management and she love helping patients  improve their eye health.

Prior to joining our team at Des Plaines Eye Care Center, she worked in the hospitality and retail industry and those experiences further help her develop her interpersonal skills. Iva is also fluent in Bulgarian.

In addition to devoting her time to make Des Plaines Eye Care Center the best choice for your eye care, she  enjoys spending time with her husband, and their sons.
 

Lia has joined the Des Plaines Eye Care Center team in 2021 as a patient care technician and now she is assisting Dr.Nakhlis and her scribe.

She pretests the patients for the doctors as well as scribing for Dr.Nakhlis. Lia has Pre-Optometry, Associate in Science and she continuously strives to learn about all things eye related.

Her interest and knowledge in the field combined with her charismatic personality help her provide exceptional experience and personalized care to our patients.

When Lia isn’t at work, she spends her free time with friends and family - she loves to travel and take on any new adventures.

Zdravka is the lead patient care technician at Des Plaines Eye Care Center. She has many years of experience in the healthcare industry, she is a registered nurse in her native country Bulgaria. Her skill set, unique experiences and industry expertise, along with guidance from our core values, help her consistently deliver the best patient experience at our clinic. Zdravka has a passion for baking and cooking. When she is not working at Des Plaines Eye Care Canter she devotes her free time to her 3 children and loving husband.
